The Great Food Club- review January 2025
“Let's talk about a classic Leicestershire pub! The Cheney Arms in Gaddesby is a handsome devil, built around 1740 and topped with a Swithland slate roof.
This Everards pub with bedrooms has developed a reputation as a pie specialist, with head chef Kev (pictured) and the team making them in-house. We tried the steak and ale the other Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's Pie Night every Wednesday from 5pm at the Cheney (booking recommended), and there's a satisfying Pub Classics Menu to go alongside. You can also choose from a specials board and the A La Carte Menu.
If you want a gratifying village pub experience – either in the bar over a pint of locally brewed Tiger or over a meal in the dining area – The Cheney Arms ticks the boxes.”
